This year saw the Margaret Jordache Award being presented for the first time.
This award goes to the boy and girl who have achieved something special during the tournament.

Meg was a bowler of great stature in the 70's and 80's and represented England on many occassions throughout her career. After Meg retired from International Bowling it was still in her blood and she accompanied the Gold Cup competitors on many occassions, supporting them with the benefit of her vast experience.

Congratulations to Kirsten MacGregor from Selby YBC who was "guesting" for Airport YBC, picked up the 7 - 10 split during the team event. I have it on good authority that she turned her back after bowling at the 10 pin, only to be greeted by wild cheering as the pin came back off the curtain and rolled across to the 7 pin. Well done Kirsten!
